Rock Bands at Chinook School of Music feature vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists and saxophonists. We offer two levels: Junior Rock Band for ages 10-12 and Teen Rock Band for ages 12 and up. Musicians are guided through the process of selecting and arranging music, developing collaboration skills and gaining valuable performance experience. Students showcase their talents on stage at the end of each session.

Registration Criteria:
A minimum of 2 years of private instruction is required for students enrolling in this program.
A recommendation from the student’s private lesson instructor is required.
Students must be currently enrolled in private lessons at Chinook School of Music or elsewhere.
Students must have the skills, resources and time to prepare their parts outside of rehearsal and lesson time and be comfortable playing in front of others.
Attendance policy: no more than 2 absences are allowed in each session of Rock Band. No absences are allowed in the 2 weeks leading up to the performance. Failure to adhere to the attendance policy may result in the student being asked to leave the band and a refund will not be available.
Scheduling options will be discussed with parents at the time of registration.
A stage performance will be scheduled at the end of each session. Attendance is mandatory.

Rock Band Refund Policy:
Students wishing to withdraw from the class must give a notice of four classes. Scheduled monthly payments for the following months will then be terminated. All refunds are subject to a $50 administration fee. Refunds and credits are not provided for student absences. Students wishing to withdraw from the class and transfer to private lessons or another program during the session may transfer the remainder of their balance with no penalty. No refunds will be issued after May 1 for the remainder of the school year. Any classes canceled by an instructor will be made up at the end of the session.
